Background:

Carroll Fife is an executive director, a community leader, a mother and a fearless freedom fighter. As executive director of ACCE Oakland, she helped found Moms for Housing and passed legislation at the state and local level to build collective power for tenants.

Carroll has been behind the scenes in Oakland electoral politics for over a decade as the founder of Black Women in Elected Leadership PAC. In 2016 she ran Oakland’s first ever slate of all Black women candidates for City Council. She was a 2016 and 2020 delegate for Bernie Sanders and is a member of the 2020 Platform Committee for the DNC.Carroll is running on a platform of systemic change, not incremental reform. That’s why Carroll fought to establish a Department of Race and Equity at the City of Oakland, to examine and address systemic bias in city government. As council member for district 3, Carroll Fife will fight to make housing a human right, defund OPD to fund the Black New Deal, and institute a wealth tax to fund COVID-19 response.
